Next Game Liverpool v Manchester City at Anfield

With 5 draws from the last 5 games, city should be looking to try and pick up 3 points from a very difficult game at Anfield.

Encouragement will come from the fact that Liverpool could only manage a 2-2 draw at home last night (9-11-09) with Birmingham City. The Liverpool side is now 11 points adrift from Chelsea and most sports journalists are writing them off for the premier league title.

Top 6 sides currently and the number of points

Chelsea 30
Arsenal 25
Man Utd 25
Tottenham 22
Aston Villa 21
Man City 20
Liverpool 19

Mark Hughes will have to field a strong midfield and it is likely that De Jong will replace Ireland in Midfield to add some strength in front of the back four.

More news later on this game……

Manchester City v Burnley Result

A very poor 1st half display by City allowed the Clarets to get in front by two goals, SWP pulled one back just before half time to end the 1st half Man City 1 Burnley 0

City came out the 2nd half with an attacking flair and through goals from Toure and bellamy got in front 3 goals to 2.

With around 5 minutes remaining the defense again switched off to let Burnley score an equaliser and the game ended 3-3.

Manchester City v Burnley

Today we will have a full house against newly promoted team from the north west Burnley.

We should have a full squad available for selection and I would expect us to win the game, not by a big margin but I would expect we should win the game.

My team choice

………………Given………………
Zabaleta…Toure…Lescott…Bridge
SWP…….NDJ…….Barry…….Bellamy
………..Tevez…Adebayor………..

Result Man City v Birmingham

Final score 0-0 which was not the best result but pushes us back in fourth place.

Brilliant penalty save by Given.

We now have 9 points from away games which is getting close to the tally of 11 from last season and only 6 away games played.

Birmingham City v Manchester City

Man City face Birmingham away today and I fully expect us to get 3 points.

Birmingham home record is played 5 won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2 with only 4 goals scored.

We are far more resilient away from home this season and I expect the team to be:

………………Given………………
Zabaleta…Toure…Lescott…Bridge
SWP…….NDJ…….Barry…….Bellamy
………..Tevez…Adebayor………..

Man City v Arsenal Carling Cup

Yesterday  Man City were drawn at home to Arsenal in the Carling Cup Quarter Final and whilst this is a tough draw home advantage should see us go through, especially as Arsene Venger will more than likely still play the kids.

This should be a sell out crowd and a great atmosphere on the night.

If City progress as expected it will be the first semi-final since 1981.
